Terms and Conditions – Conference Registration

Purpose

These Terms and Conditions govern the registration and payment process through the Virtual Point of Sale Terminal (Virtual POS) available on the conference website for participation in the:

7th Annual RCF-ECGI Corporate Finance and Governance Conference

to be held 9–11 October 2026 at the Real Centro Universitario Escorial-Maria Cristina (Madrid, Spain), with the possibility of in-person or online participation, where applicable.

Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions

To complete the registration and payment process, users must read and expressly accept these Terms and Conditions by ticking the designated consent box.

Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions is required in order to complete the registration and payment process.

Registration Fees and Payment Conditions

Conference registration fees must be paid by bank card through the Virtual POS available on the conference website.

The applicable registration fees are clearly indicated on the website and are expressed in euros (€), including any applicable taxes.

Once the payment process has been successfully completed, participants will receive confirmation of payment and registration by email at the address provided during registration.

Service Delivery

Conference registration corresponds to the purchase of an event participation service, and therefore no physical goods will be shipped.

Upon confirmation of payment, participants will receive an email confirming their registration together with relevant information regarding conference participation.

Participants registered for the in-person conference will receive information regarding the venue, schedule, and conference activities.

Participants registered for the online participation option, where applicable, will receive instructions for accessing the digital platform before the event.

No shipping costs apply, as registration corresponds exclusively to a conference participation service.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Conference registration fees are non-refundable, except in cases of force majeure.

Requests for exceptions due to force majeure must be submitted by email to [email protected], including relevant supporting documentation. Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If the conference is cancelled by the organizers, registered participants will receive a full refund of the registration fee, using the same payment method used for the original transaction.

If a registered participant is unable to attend, the registration may be transferred to another participant, provided that the organizers are notified in advance by email.

Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, the right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for services related to leisure activities when the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance, such as conferences or events.

Therefore, once registration has been completed, participants are not entitled to withdraw from the contract or request a refund, except in the cases described in the Cancellation and Refund Policy.

Programme Changes

The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the conference programme, speakers, format, or schedule if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.

Such changes do not entitle participants to a refund of the registration fee.

Force Majeure

The organizers shall not be held responsible for failure to perform or delays in performance caused by circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, public health emergencies, travel restrictions, government regulations, or other force majeure events.

In such cases, the organizers reserve the right to modify the conference format, postpone the event, or convert the conference to a fully online format.

Liability

The organizers shall not be liable for any travel costs, accommodation expenses, or other expenses incurred by participants in connection with attending the conference.

Participants attend the conference at their own responsibility.

Photography and Media Consent

During the conference, photographs, video recordings, or other media may be taken for documentation, promotional, or dissemination purposes.

By registering for the conference, participants grant the organizers permission to use such materials in conference-related communications, websites, and promotional materials, unless the participant explicitly requests otherwise.

Visa Invitation Letters

Participants who require a visa invitation letter must first complete conference registration and payment before submitting their request.

The organizers will provide invitation letters for visa purposes upon request but cannot guarantee that a visa will be granted, and are not responsible for decisions made by embassies or consulates.

Personal Data Protection

Personal data provided during the registration and payment process will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) and the applicable Spanish data protection legislation.

Such data will be used exclusively for purposes related to conference registration management, payment processing, and event administration.

Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Spanish law.

Any disputes arising from the interpretation or execution of these Terms and Conditions shall be submitted to the courts and tribunals of Madrid, Spain, unless applicable consumer protection regulations provide otherwise.

Express Consent

By ticking the acceptance box and completing the payment process, the participant declares that they have read, understood, and expressly accepted these Terms and Conditions, including the policies regarding conference registration, cancellation, and refunds.
